Frequently Asked Questions

Shutting Down / Sleep

Cannot enter sleep automatically.
  • When [Stay awake] is enabled in [Developer options Developer options] of "Settings" application, during charging, the computer does not enter sleep automatically.
Cannot shut down.
  • Press and hold Power button (Power button) for more than 8 seconds.

Display

Cannot rotate screen.
  • Confirm that [Auto-rotate] is enabled in "Dashboard".
  • Some application can be used only in prefixed angle.

Input Operation

Cannot input by voice.
  • To use voice input function, internet connection is necessary. Connect to the internet.

Connections

A peripheral device does not work.
  • The peripheral devices may be disabled by "Device Management". Touch Apps - [device_management Device Management] and confirm that the device is enabled or not.
Cannot use a microSD memory card or other external storage.
  • Confirm that [External storage] is enabled in "Device Management".
  • If "SD card" is displayed at the "Dashboard", confirm that [SD card] is mounted.
  • Remove and reinsert the microSD memory card by performing the following steps.
    1. Touch Apps - [Settings Settings] - [Storage Storage] - [Unmount SD card].
    2. At the confirmation message, touch [OK].
    3. Slide the latch to unlock the cover and open the cover.
    4. Press the microSD memory card so it comes out of the slot, then draw it straight out.
    5. Reinsert the microSD memory card, then close the cover and slide the latch to lock the cover.
Cannot recognize this computer as a mass storage device from another computer.
  • To use this computer as a mass storage device of another computer, touch Apps - [Settings Settings] - [More...] - [Tethering & portable hotspot] and touch [USB tethering] to remove a check mark.

Wireless Communications

Cannot connect to a network.
  • The wireless devices may be disabled by "Device Management". Touch Apps - [device_management Device Management] and confirm that the device is enabled or not.
Cannot check the computer's MAC address.
  • Confirm that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled, then follow the steps below.
    1. Touch Apps - [Settings Settings] - [About tablet About tablet] - [Status].
    2. Make a note of the 12-digit string of alphanumeric displayed on "Wi-Fi MAC address" and "Bluetooth address".

Battery

Cannot charge.
  • Check the cable connection for the AC adaptor.

Sound

No sound.
  • Confirm that [Silent] of "Speaker" is not checked in "Dashboard".
Sound is distorted or stopped.
  • Sound may be distorted or stopped in the following cases. These are not malfunctions.
    - Inserting / removing the microSD memory card
    - Connecting / disconnecting the headphone or headset
    - Rotating screen
Sound is heard from speaker even if headphone or headset is connected to the headphone/microphone jack.
  • Notifications and alarm sound from speaker even if headphone or headset is connected to the headphone/microphone jack. These are not malfunctions.

Others

Clock shows the wrong time.
  • Confirm the settings of [date_time Date & time] in "Settings" application.
After updating system software, some applications do not start.
  • The application may not apply to the new update. Contact Panasonic Technical Support to return to the previous version.
